About Me

My name is Mirek.

I am Polish born, Australian Radio Amateur, and due to my work I am spending most of my time travelling the world.

I was first licensed in Poland as SP5IXI in 1975. In 1981 I left Poland and I migrated to Australia  in 1982. I did my university degree in Melbourne at RMIT and started QRL with an international company. First I lived in Victoria (VK3DXI) then in NSW (VK2DXI). Working for international company gave me an opportunity to travel.  I have lived and operated in many countries. It has been a great experience and privilege to see different countries and cultures.

As of December 2002 I am active as VK6DXI, from Perth, Western Australia (when not on the road).

For many years my QSL manager was Ted DL4DBR who is Silent Key since January 2009. Thanks Ted, for all your work and help.

Since the beginning of 2009 the QSL manager for my calls 7X0DX, 9M8DX, 9M8DX/2, TF/SP5IXI and Z21DXI is SP5UAF. You can QSL to SP5UAF via Polish QSL bureau or direct (Tomasz Barbachowski, Zeromskiego 10, 05-070 Sulejowek, Poland). You can also send an email QSL request for bureau cards.

For all other of my calls and operations I take care of the cards myself.

    Hello Marek

I read you are active from Z2
We like to go to Z2 next year to do 144 MHz moonbounce. I have been in 3B8 5Z 5X C56 9G 9X to name a few
Can you advise me how to get a licence and maybe you know a good place to operate from?
